Hey guys! Today, I will be reviewing Passenger by Alexandra Bracken! This book is so beautiful and the plot sounds amazing! I was not disappointed. THIS REVIEW IS SPOILER FREE!!!!

This story is about Etta, a violin prodigy, who is forced back in time to find the object the Ironwoods most desire in order to save her mother that has been kidnapped by the family. Etta teams up with Nicholas, a time traveler himself, to find the thing the Ironwoods have been searching for, and save Etta's mother. Along the way, they learn the secrets of time traveling, Etta's past, and more.

Okay, so first off, LOVED the idea for this book! The beginning was a bit slow in my opinion, but once the action starts it never stops. Ironwood is vicious and cunning, while Etta's sarcasm and wit paired with Nicholas is so entertaining! I've always been a fan of Bracken's writing and her style really shines through this book. I have just finished Wayfarer and I'm honestly crushed its only a duology! Everyone should gives this book a try!

Overall, I would give the first book a 5/5 stars. Overall, I would give the duology a 4/5 stars. So here is how I got my rating: I give reviews based on five separate categories: plot, characters, description, pace, and extras. Each point earns a total of 1 star - which is what gives my five star rating.

Plot: 1/1 stars. As a big fantasy reader, time travel is one of my favorite plots. I am a total historical fiction nerd and this series gives me life. If you like historical fiction, romance, or both - you'll love this book. While I'm not a huge romance fan myself, I thought the overall plot was too good not to give it a full star.

Characters: 1/1 stars. Etta's strong personality, with Sophia's sharp wit and no f's given attitude, and Nicholas' desire to be his own man gives this story a strong coming of age vibe to it. Each character discovers more about themselves, their family, their values than they would have realized without this journey. The best part of it being that they never actually change who they are. I can definitely appreciate that.

Description: 1/1 stars. Bracken's writing style is one I really enjoy. She goes through the book like a wave, crests with lots of action/drama/awesome stuff and troughs where she goes in depth to characters thoughts, desires, etc. It gives the book a nice balance between all existential thought and non-stop action.

Pace: 1/1 stars. The wave like structure also gives the book a great pace. It doesn't move too fast or too slow and you get moments of both throughout the book. This style makes the book very enjoyable to read.

Extras: 1/1 stars. TIME TRAVEL. NEED I SAY MORE?! (super huge time travel/historical fiction NERD here!!!)

All in all, this book was so much fun to read and I adored going on this journey with Etta and Nicholas. I NEED A THIRD BOOK!!!
