How To Tell If You're A Bibliophile

Have you ever wondered if you're a born and bred bibliophile? Are you unsure whether or not your reading habits would be considered obsessive? This article will let you know if you're a true bibliophile!

1. You love the smell of books

If you're obsessed with the smell of books, regardless if they're new, middle aged, or old - then you're weird. And a bibliophile.

2. Your credit card statement is mostly food, coffee, gas, and BOOKS!!!!!

If you are spending money on books every month then you're just like me!

Broke and in a fort made out of the thousands of books you have purchased in the past month. Or wallowing in your tears while you try to pay off your bank statement.

This also applies if you're a library fiend and have 6 books checked out at the same time with due dates coming up shortly and only 2/6 books finished.

It's a struggle to be obsessed with reading!

3. You have multiple copies of the same books

You have them in paperback, softcover, hardcover, signed, special edition covers, the whole nine yards!!!

And yes, you need them all!

4. Damaging a book is the same as breaking a finger.

It's a tragedy to damage your own book. Lots of tears and apologizing.

BUT

When your friends return your book damaged

...

You don't have friends anymore and hide yourself in your book fort again until you find people that appreciate a book as much as you.

Who needs friends when you have books?

5. You make references to books to everyone.

All of your jokes are book related jokes.

Because books are the only thing you talk about.

Because you're a book nerd.

6. You collect everything book related

Pillows.

Bookmarks.

T-Shirts.

Mugs.

Band-Aids (If they had them, which they should!!!!!)

EVERYTHING

7. You get defensive over your favorite books

You become friends over similar reads but the second someone says your favorite book is not perfection - FRIENDSHIP. OVER.

You don't need that negativity in your life!

8. One more chapter NEVER means one more chapter

Especially when you get to that big moment of realization and you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT BECAUSE YOU CANNOT FUNCTION AS A HUMAN BEING WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON!!

And also reading is fun!

9. When you have more fictional boyfriends than have had real boyfriends in your life
